This calculator gives home daycare owners a fast estimate of annual tuition revenue, average monthly tuition and a simple monthly operating surplus using enrollment, weekly tuition, weeks open per year and monthly operating expenses.
Home daycare income formula
Estimated annual tuition = enrolled children × average weekly tuition × weeks open per year. Monthly tuition is the annual estimate divided by 12. The simple operating surplus subtracts the monthly expenses you enter.
Why this is not the same as accounting profit
The result does not include taxes, owner compensation, payroll, subsidies, food reimbursements, depreciation, debt payments or other adjustments. It is a planning snapshot designed to help you see whether tuition and expenses are moving in the right direction.
Use realistic operating weeks
If your daycare closes for holidays, vacation or seasonal breaks, enter the number of weeks you actually expect to bill tuition. Using 52 weeks when you operate fewer weeks can overstate annual revenue.
